アジア学院クラウドファンディング、支援総額150万円、支援者数100名を突破 ― ネクストゴール220万円へ。西日本研修 浜松・聖隷福祉事業団に学ぶ"仕えるリーダーシップ"

学校法人アジア学院（所在地：栃木県那須塩原市、代表：山本俊正）が2026年8月1日（土）に開始したクラウドファンディング「隣人とやさしく生きる」は、開始から5日が経過した8月5日時点で、支援総額1,752,402円（支援者116名、応援メッセージ97件）を突破し、開始初日に達成した第一目標金額100万円を大きく超え、ネクストゴール220万円の達成に向けて挑戦を続けています。

あわせて、西日本研修の訪問先を紹介する現地レポートの続編として、静岡県浜松市の聖隷福祉事業団での学びをお届けします。本日8月5日開幕の夏の全国高等学校野球選手権大会（甲子園）静岡県代表校の聖隷クリストファー高等学校も、アジア学院が西日本研修で毎年訪れる学び舎の一つです。

西日本研修において、聖隷福祉事業団は、真の「仕えるリーダーシップ」を学ぶ重要な訪問先の一つです。聖隷事業団は、今や医療、福祉から教育の分野に至るまで、静岡西部を中心に多くの市民の生活を支えていますが、その活動は、社会から隔絶されがちだった結核の方々を受け入れることから始まりました。毎年、アジア学院の学生たちは、聖隷歴史資料館を訪れ、創業者・長谷川保氏の、人々に奉仕しコミュニティのニーズに応えるために生涯を捧げた姿勢や言葉を通して、真のサーバント（仕える）リーダーとはどうあるべきかについて学びます。
学生の声：亡くなった後も、奉仕は続く昨年、聖隷歴史資料館を訪れた学生は、このような感想を残しています。
「『生きている間に最善を尽くして奉仕せよ』とはよく聞くが、長谷川氏が医学生の学びのためにご自身の骨格標本を寄贈されたと聞き、亡くなった後も奉仕は可能だと学んだ。」
長谷川氏が大切にした人々に仕える心は、聖隷クリストファー高等学校の校歌としても親しまれている讃美歌393番にも歌い継がれています。身分や立場の違いを超え、どんな小さな務めにも尊さが宿るというその精神は、本日開幕する甲子園の応援歌として球場に響く一方で、遠く離れたアジア学院の学生たちの学びとも、静かにつながっています。
なお、西日本研修が巡る各訪問先の物語は、今後も現地レポートとして順次お届けする予定です。

アジア学院の学生たち（農村コミュニティリーダー）が、教室を飛び出して広島・水俣・関西などを12日間にわたり巡り、平和、公害、多文化共生、有機農業などを現場から直接学ぶ「西日本研修」。彼らが自国に持ち帰り、地域社会に変化をもたらすための非常に重要なプログラムですが、昨今の物価高騰などの影響により、研修を継続・充実させるための資金が不足しています。
これを乗り越えるため、8月1日よりクラウドファンディングに挑戦しています。また現在、当キャンペーンの「子キャンペーン」としてご自身のページを立ち上げ、ご友人やSNSのフォロワー等に寄付を呼びかけてくださる「サポートファンディングパートナー」を募集しています。

Asian Rural Institute Crowdfunding Surpasses ￥1.75 Million ― Aiming for a Next Goal of ￥2.2 Million. On-the-Ground Report: What "Servant Leadership" Means at Seirei Social Welfare Community in Hamamatsu
Five days after launch, support has already reached 175% of our original goal. In this on-the-ground report, we share the history of Seirei - which began by caring for tuberculosis patients - and its unexpected connection to today's opening of Koshien
The Asian Rural Institute (ARI, Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture; Representative: Toshimasa Yamamoto) launched its "Living Kindly with Neighbors" crowdfunding campaign on Saturday, August 1, 2026. Five days later, as of August 5th, total donations have surpassed ￥1,752,402 from 116 supporters (with 97 messages of support), well beyond the initial goal of ￥1,000,000 achieved on day one, as ARI continues its challenge toward a Next Goal of ￥2,200,000.

As part of our ongoing series of on-the-ground reports from the Western Japan Study Tour's destinations, we are pleased to share this story from the Seirei Social Welfare Community in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka. Today, August 5th, also marks the opening of the National High School Baseball Championship at Koshien Stadium - and Seirei Christopher High School, representing Shizuoka Prefecture, is one of the very places ARI participants visit every year during the Western Japan Study Tour (WJST).
During the WJST, the Seirei Social Welfare Community is one of the most important destinations for learning what true "servant leadership" looks like. Today, Seirei supports the lives of countless citizens across western Shizuoka in fields ranging from medical care and welfare to education. Yet its work began by welcoming tuberculosis patients who were often isolated from society. Every year, ARI participants visit the Seirei History Museum, learning what it truly means to be a servant leader through the words and life of founder Tamotsu Hasegawa, who devoted himself entirely to serving others and meeting the needs of his community.
Participant's Reflection: Service That Continues Even After Death
A participant who visited the Seirei History Museum last year shared this reflection:
"We often hear the phrase 'do your best to serve while you're alive,' but learning that Mr. Hasegawa donated his own skeleton for medical students to study, I realized that it's possible to keep serving others even after death."
The spirit of serving others that Mr. Hasegawa held so dear also lives on in Hymn 393, cherished as the school anthem of Seirei Christopher High School - a hymn about dignity in even the smallest of duties, beyond any distinction of rank or status. That same spirit, echoing through the stadium as today's cheering song, quietly connects to the learning of ARI's participants far away in Tochigi.

About the "Living Kindly with Neighbors" Fundraising Campaign
The "Western Japan Study Tour" takes ARI participants (rural community leaders) out of the classroom for a 12-day journey through Hiroshima, Minamata, and the Kansai region to learn firsthand about peace, pollution, multicultural coexistence, and organic farming. It is a highly important program that empowers them to bring back this knowledge to their home countries and create positive changes in their local communities. However, due to recent factors such as soaring prices, we are facing a shortage of funds to continue and enhance this training.
To overcome this challenge, we are challenging ourselves with a crowdfunding campaign starting August 1st. We are currently seeking "Support Funding Partners" who are willing to set up their own personal sub-campaign pages and call for donations from their friends and SNS followers.
