アートとテクノロジーの融合により新たな知覚体験を切り拓き、アート&デザインプロジェクトを中心に数々のアワードを受賞しているクリエイティブラボ、Out of Blue Inc. (所在地：東京都渋谷区、代表：山崎みどり)は、2026年8月17日（日）、米国・ニューヨークのタイムズスクエアに位置する大型ビルボードにて開催されるグローバルアートショーケース「Streeters Times Square Showcase」に選出され、アート作品『Endless Wave』を発表しました。世界的な文化・情報の発信地であるタイムズスクエアを舞台に、巨大スクリーンの没入感溢れるビジュアル体験を通じて、作品世界を提示しました。
■Out of Blue代表 山崎みどり 略歴
クリエイティブディレクター、アーティスト、リサーチャー。ロンドン芸術大学（UAL）セントラル・セント・マーティンズ / MA コミュニケーションデザイン 修士課程修了。adidas、Nike、Conde Nast、Facebookなどのクリエイティブディレクター、東京大学生産技術研究所 DLX Design Lab 特任研究員を経て、マルチメディアのコミュニケーションデザイン・メディアアートを中心に活動。Japan ADC賞、NY ADC賞、Red Dot 賞、A’ Design賞、TDC賞、DSA賞、SIGGRAPHなど受賞および入選多数。

■Streeters Galleryについて
「Streeters Gallery（ストリーターズ・ギャラリー）」は、ロンドン、パリ、ニューヨークを拠点に、世界中の気鋭のクリエイターや新鋭アーティストにグローバルな舞台を提供する国際的なアートプラットフォームです。世界9都市でのアーティストの展示を手掛け、強固なコレクターネットワークを持つ著名な国際ギャラリー「The Holy Art Gallery」の姉妹ギャラリーとして誕生し、従来のギャラリーの枠組みや実績にとらわれず、作品そのもののクオリティと表現力に焦点を当てた選出を行うことで、現代のアート＆クリティブシーンに新たなダイナミズムをもたらしています。今回は、世界で最も象徴的なパブリックアートの舞台であるニューヨーク・タイムズスクエアにて、厳選されたクリエイターを紹介する「Streeters Times Square Showcase」を主催・キュレーションしています。

■展示作品『Endless Wave』について
『Endless Wave』は、サーファーとしての個人の身体感覚と物理法則の方程式を融合させることで、自然界に一瞬しか存在しない「理想の波」を再現したアート作品です。アーティスト自身の20年以上にわたるサーフィン経験から、テイクオフの直前に水面から目撃する「特別な曲線」の記憶を出発点とし、スイス連邦工科大学ローザンヌ校（EPFL）のYves Leterrier教授との学際的なコラボレーションにより、手書きのスケッチと物理法則を用いた波のシミュレーションを統合。一瞬の自然の美しさが、数値化して再現可能であることを突き止めました。長い距離と時間を旅してエネルギーを蓄え、美しく整っていく「波」と、クリエイションにおいて習得が極めて難しいとされる流麗な曲線。これらが持つ調和をテクノロジーで紐解き実現した本作は、刹那的な自然の美を作品として定着させたコンセプチュアル・アートです。

Out of Blue Inc. (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Midori Yamazaki)-an award-winning creative lab unlocking unexpected visual experiences through the integration of art and technology-was selected for the global art showcase "Streeters Times Square Showcase" on Sunday, August 17, 2026. On this occasion, Out of Blue presented its artwork Endless Wave on a major billboard in Times Square, New York, USA. Set against the backdrop of Times Square, a world-renowned hub of culture and information, the work presented its universe through an immersive visual experience on a massive screen.
■ Midori Yamazaki (CEO, Out of Blue) - Biography
Creative Director, Artist, and Researcher. She holds an MA in Communication Design from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (UAL). Having worked as a Creative Director for companies including adidas, Nike, Conde Nast, and Meta (formerly Facebook), as well as a Project Researcher at DLX Design Lab, Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo, she currently focuses on multimedia communication design and media art. She has received numerous international awards and recognitions, including Japan ADC, NY ADC, Red Dot Award, A' Design Award, Tokyo TDC, DSA Award, and SIGGRAPH.

■ About the Artwork: Endless Wave
Endless Wave is a conceptual artwork that reproduces the "ideal wave"-a natural phenomenon that exists only for a fleeting moment-by fusing personal somatic experience as a surfer with the equations of physical law. Drawing from the artist's own surfing experience of over two decades, the work originates from the memory of a "special curve" witnessed from the water's surface just before takeoff. Through an interdisciplinary collaboration with Professor Yves Leterrier of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), hand-drawn sketches were integrated with physics-based wave simulations, demonstrating that the momentary beauty of nature can be quantified and recreated. A wave gathers energy over long distances and time to form a beautifully refined shape, mirroring the elegant curves that are considered exceptionally difficult to master in creation. By employing technology to unravel and realize this shared harmony, the artwork permanently captures the fleeting beauty of nature.
